PS5 stock availability has improved throughout the year, but it can still be difficult to buy a standalone PS5 console. You may have to opt for a PS5 bundle instead, which usually comes with a game, extra DualSense controller and/or other PS5 acccessories like a headset or compatible SSD. These will, of course, cost more than just the console on its own, but you’ll at least have something to play on your new console.

You can also keep your eyes on the retailer list below for the latest stock updates on PlayStation 5.

Sony has increased the price of the PS5 Disc Edition and PS5 Digital Edition by £30.

While PS5 restocks seem to be happening more frequently nowadays, the standalone console is still selling out fast. We’re hoping the PS5 stock shortage improves this year but there’s no guarantees. This is due to the ongoing chip shortage and demand issues. Sony recently noted that PS5 stock shortages are due to both the Covid pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine, Sony also predicts the sales momentum will improve and overtake the PS4’s equivalent selling speed by 2024.

To help you buy Sony’s next-gen console (standard or digital), we recommend bookmarking our PlayStation 5 stock checker page and keep checking back so you can find out all the latest PS5 stock updates, including when a retailer goes live with its restock.
